Indira Vaessen
A Positive Psychologist with a love for authenticity and character strengths and stimulating this in others. A good summary of me as a psychologist and coach.
Positive Psychology you may ask? Are you then going to sit on a yoga mat all day to meditate and say life is all sparkles? No! But I can imagine it raises some questions.

"Positive Psychology centers around what can be done"

It focuses on the things that are positive. Of course it is important not to ignore that life can be negative in it’s ways. Positive Psychology focusses on the positive elements, while keeping an eye out on the rest.
Often, Positive psychology is mentioned in the same sentence as Solution focused psychology. It is therefore called the science of wellbeing and happiness, but also about resilience and strength.
"For me, the past few months have been all about: listening to my needs, feeling that my ideas are valid, and knowing when it is time to act on them. Sometimes this is still a quest, I didn't expect anything different. So I embrace it."
"BE YOURSELF"

In the spring of 2023 I decided to start my own practice: Vaessen Psychology. A nice step to grow further in the field of positive psychology and coaching. I have an affinity with stimulating authenticity and interventions aimed at personal characteristics (Character Strengths). I give 1:1 Coaching, Workshops and Training.
I notice that we are very concerned with what is expected and required of us. This is often characterized by outside influences, making it difficult to stay close to yourself. “Be yourself,” I was told as a child. But how do you actually do that? And who are you?
Together we see how we can find your authenticity when taking on challenges, solving problems or purely stimulating growth as a person.
To explore your authentic character, we turn inward together. Let's get acquainted to see if we can find the connection in your story together.
